Natural Home Remedies for Acne 

For many women, acne is one common problem. It creates ugly marks, redness, and scars on our faces. While most of us go to experts like the Colorado Dermatology, others also use cheaper alternatives for treatment. There are many natural ingredients you can see in your kitchen that potentially prevent and cure acne. Ingredients like garlic, apple cider vinegar, green tea, are just some of the natural remedies you can use while at home. 

Garlic 

Garlic has been traditionally used to treat infections and/or help the body to fight infections and germs. This is because garlic has organosulfur compounds that potentially negate bacteria and inflammation. These compounds also help boost your immune system to fight infections. 

Acne is a form of inflammation or infection (result), and at the same time, it also causes these to your skin. To help you avoid this, you can add a clove of garlic to your diet. Some people chew the whole garlic clove or rub it on their toast, while others make it a hot drink. 

Green Tea  

Green tea is known to contain a high amount of tannins, flavonoids, and antioxidants. This is probably one of the best and cheapest acne treatments you can find in your kitchen. Green tea reduces blood sugar and insulin levels that cause acne. It also contains epigallocatechin-3-gallate or EGCG that potentially reduces the production of sebum, lowers inflammation, and stunts the growth of acne. 

Oatmeal 

Your oats are not just good for your breakfast but they are also effective ingredient acne scars. It has a natural antioxidant that removes itchiness, dryness, dead skin cells and cytokines that causes inflammation to your skin. It also contains active zinc that targets the bacteria causing the acne and at the same time balancing your skin’s natural oils. You can make it a mask from oatmeal, milk, honey or coconut water. 

Aloe Vera 

This plant has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that reduce the ugly acne marks while also preventing it from coming back. It also contains a good amount of water that makes it ideal to use as a moisturizer. It is suitable for people who have dry skin from using anti-acne products.  

Aloe vera has anti-fungal properties that prevent infections as well as sebum production and the accumulation of dirt on your skin. Apply this twice a day for better results.  

Apple Cider Vinegar  

It is used for different purposes like fat burning and for different ailments. Apple Cider Vinegar is also a good ingredient to cure acne symptoms. It has a natural acid that fights off bacteria and germs that cause acne. It also helps remove oil from your face that prevents acne. This ingredient also has lactic and succinic acid that helps remove the inflammation and scars caused by the acne. The apple cider vinegar is very pungent so you need to dilute it before using. Use this by mixing four parts water and one part apple cider vinegar. Use a cotton or a spritzer for application.
